MERLIN HAVING A SLEEP
MERLIN IS HAVING HIS HIP SCORES TAKEN IN DECEMBER 2008
Merlin has had his DNA results back and he is CLEAR from JRD.
This means he carries non of the genes for this Kidney disease.
Dino has been DNA tested along with his sister and mother.
The results are that he has JRD.
His mother is a carrier of the gene but not affected, this means Dino's father must also be a carrier, but this has not been confirmed.
This is found in GSD's but now seems to be spreading in Shelties too.
This site is very interesting and they are offering DNA test to Shelties.
We shall keep you up to date on his health as we go.
